Anna Andersen Obituary
Graveside services for Anna Mae Andersen, 85, Baldwin City, will be 2 p.m. Monday, August 12, 2013 at Clinton Cemetery with Pastor Don Ogden officiating.
Mrs. Andersen died Thursday, August 8, 2013, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born August 3, 1928 in Clinton, Kansas, the daughter of Jesse and Anna Hellstrom Brown. She graduated from Vinland High School in 1947 and has lived in the area her whole life.
Mrs. Andersen has worked as homemaker and a linen clerk for Lawrence Memorial Hospital before her retirement. She enjoyed reading and taking care of her dogs. She also was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW.
She married Harold Elmer "Andy" Andersen, September 2, 1950, in Lawrence. He died in 1981.
Survivors include sons, Darrell Andersen and wife Virginia Sommerville of Topeka, Allan Andersen of Baldwin City; daughter, Ila Russell and husband Vern of Lawrence; 5 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends following the graveside service at the VFW Post 852, 1801 Massachusetts Street, Lawrence, Kansas 66044.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, PO Box 1260, Lawrence, KS 66044.

Anna Mae was my mother in law for 10 years. I have never been treated better, she was always so good to me. She treated my children like her own grandchildren. And she made the best Turkey dressing in the world.
