On June 10, 2022, Alex Matthew Staton, loving husband, son, and brother passed away at the age of 30. Alex was born on July 26, 1991 in Salina, Kansas to Clayton and Fran Staton. He attended Sacred Heart High School where he excelled in Quiz Bowl and 4H. He graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2014, and he worked as a mechanical engineer for Kiewit Engineering until his death. Alex truly loved his job and was proud of the power projects he worked on. He married the love of his life, Bethany Eden Olson on September 18, 2021.
Alex was a loyal, loving, passionate man who never hesitated to lend a hand to someone in need. He was a skilled mechanic and woodworker who loved cars, especially his Mustang. He loved his family with all of his heart, and would do anything for them. He loved his wife Bethany, and spent countless hours with her traveling, working on their home, and adventuring outdoors with their puppy Echo. He liked to show his love for others by cooking for them. His specialties included mega breakfast, smoked meat, and sous vide steak. He enjoyed sharing his humor through memes and stories, and while he showed his love in many ways, one could always count on him to be there for them.
Alex was preceded in death by his grandparents, Buddie and Wanda Staton, Leo and Genrose O'Halloran, and Charles and Martha Nell Kingry. He is survived by his wife Bethany, his parents Clayton and Fran, his siblings, Becky (Rick) Commerford, Joseph (Megan) Kingry-Staton, Katherine (Charles) Stoltenberg, as well as his nieces and nephews Charlie, Jett, Elise, River, and Vivian.
