Alberta Young Obituary
She graduated from Northeast High School, Kansas City, Missouri, in 1955, and from Kansas State University in 1959, with a Bachelor of Science in the College of Home Economics, majoring in textiles and clothing. She was a member of Kappa Delta sorority, President of the Pan Hellenic Council and a member of the Mortar Board national honor society.
She was employed as a buyer for Woolf Bros, a specialty store in Kansas City, Missouri, from 1959 to 1965.
On May 1, 1965, she married Fredric R. Young in Kansas City, Missouri. They raised a daughter, Elizabeth, and a son, Robert in Dodge City, Kansas.
While living in Dodge City, she was a member of PEO, the Philomath Study Club, the Bas Bleu Study Club, the Salvation Army Auxiliary and was awarded a life membership in the Parent-Teachers Association.
She is survived by her husband Fredric of Lawrence, Kansas, her daughter Elizabeth and grandson Alexander of Boxford, Massachusetts and son Robert and Brenda of Lawrence, Kansas.
Visitation will be at Muehlebach Funeral Care, 6800 Troost Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri on August 17, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri, on August 17, 2022 at 1 p.m.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to Alzheimer's Association, P. O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011 or a charity of the donor's choice
