I met Albert at a fluoride conference in New York. He became a true friend. His knowledge was outstanding. He was a humble man, soft spoken and knowledgeable in many areas. We had many discussion together and saw life the same way in all its aspects. Bless him and his family. He is now in Heaven. He will be missed.

Dr. Burgstahler was the finest natural products chemist I ever knew, met, or heard of [U. Kansas, 1960s]. He was also well versed in other fields, let me hasten to add. Some of his exam questions were real bears, though...!

I never met Albert Burgstahler, but only corresponded with him. So direct, meticulous, compassionate, and considerate were his expressions of wisdom and support that I felt we were friends. He was a pioneer in identifying by scientific means the true author of the Shakespeare canon. Since he shared with me the youtube presentations he made concerning fluoride, I could see that he was a champion of the truth in that field as well. Such a person does not really die, he is so present in the feelings and inspirations of those he touched. My best wishes to his family, about whom he spoke with indomitable devotion.

My condolences to the family. I went to grade school with one of the children and spent quite a bit of time in their home back then. Praying you all find peace in this sad time.

I send my heartfelt condolences to Albert's family and friends. I had the privilege to meet Albert at the ISFR Conference in Toronto in 2008, when he was honoured by the Society for his scientific integrity. Albert will be sorely missed by the worldwide campaign against fluoridation but we are grateful that for a long time we had the benefit of his knowledge, his wisdom and his dedication. Requiescat in pacem.

Rarely do we find an academic who will stick to the scientific truth against protracted opposition by vested interests. Albert Burgstahler was a great example of this rare breed. Followers will climb on his shoulders so that his work was not in vain

I am so saddened to hear of Albert's passing. He was such a treasure. To be able to have known him was a highlight of my life. I will miss not getting emails from him and to share in his extensive knowledge on a regular basis. Farewell Albert. Know you will be missed.

Although I met Albert only briefly at the Fluoride Conference in 2010, St. Lawrence University, I was greatly impressed with his integrity, truth and his long association with and editing of the Fluoride Journal. He was a giant in the anti-fluoridation movement and will be very sorely missed by us all. Our sincerest condolences for the loss of your loved one.

In 2012, after forming a group to keep fluoridation out of a small town in Ontario, Canada, I called Dr. Burgstahler to request his kind assistance, and he spoke with me for 20 minutes. I did not know, until the end of the conversation, that he had been talking to me in great physical pain.
At that moment, I realized that he was not only an intellectual giant, but a selfless humanitarian. He was more than a man: he was the definition of human being. His example (and the examples of a very few others like him) is the reason why I chose to give back to the cause of ending fluoridation nationally.
He reminds us all that one person can make a difference in this world.
He will be greatly missed by so many on the planet he helped to make a better place.
With sincere sympathy to his family, friends, and acquaintances around the globe,

My deepest sympathy to the family of Albert. I had the honor and privilege to know the great truth teller for 14 years while living in Lawrence. He told the truth, no matter how uncomfortable it was for many. Science was never for sale. Farewell to a remarkable man. I enjoyed knowing you and appreciate all your hard work trying to eliminate poisons from the water supply and vaccines. RIP my dear friend.
