Abraham Waters Obituary

Reno – Abraham Lincoln Waters, age 59, formerly of Lawrence, Kansas, passed away on May 8, 2021, at his home in Reno, NV. Private graveside services were held at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada, OK., where Abe will be interred.

Abe is survived by his father, Earl Waters, of Ada, OK. Abe was preceded in death by his two brothers, Joshua Wayne Waters and Jacob York Waters, and his mother Dee Anne Waters.

Abe graduated from Lawrence KS High School in 1980 and attended Kansas University for a couple of years. Then he moved to Kansas City, Mo. where he worked for an insurance company and later for a bank working with a large mainframe computer running late night reports, etc. He bought a house in KC and lived there for approximately 10 years.

He next moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and worked for a large holding company that insured yachts and other large pleasure crafts. Abe liked this job very much, but after being with them for 10 years, he fell seriously ill and had to spend eight weeks in Broward County Hospital. That's when Abe decided to come back to Lawrence and live with his Mom and Dad for a while. In 2012 he was offered a job with a car auction company in Reno, NV. Many will remember Abe for his sense of humor and friendly smile.
