Ann Gloria Shane (Johnson)

Ann G. Shane, age 93 of North Ogden, UT, passed away on January 26, 2026, at

McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, UT.

Ann was born June 16, 1932, in Globe, AZ, the daughter of the late Randolph and

Aurelia Johnson. She had two sisters, the late Olive Harrington and Betty Thornbrugh.

Ann grew up in Globe, AZ and graduated from Globe High School's class of 1950.

After graduating high school, she moved to Tucson, AZ where she worked for the

government which she continued to do until her retirement from Civil Service at

Plattsburgh AFB, NY. Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson is where she met the love of her

life, Ronald H. Shane from Jersey City, NJ and they were married on August 7, 1954.

Ann and Ron stayed in Tucson for a few years where they started a family with the

birth of their first child Patrick. From Davis Monthan they moved frequently and saw

the world together going to Kindley AFB in Bermuda next where their second child,

Kathleen was born. After a short stay, they went to Travis AFB, CA, for a short stay

before being stationed at Ramey AFB in Puerto Rico where Michael was born before

finally being assigned to Plattsburgh AFB, NY where they set down roots and retired

from the military living in Peru, NY for 32 years until Ron's passing in 2002.

Their children are Patrick Shane who lives in PA, Kathleen Shane and Dan Marble, her

husband, who resides in Harrisville, UT, and Michael Shane and his wife Nicole who

resides in North Ogden, UT. Between them all there are six grandchildren and eleven

great-grandchildren.

Ann was active with her classmates from Globe High School and loved participating in

bowling. Most of all, Ann enjoyed being a mother of her children and "Grandma Ann"

to her grandchildren.

She will be cremated and her ashes will be placed next to her beloved husband, Ron,

at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in upstate New York.
