Robert Hawley Obituary

Robert "Bob" Hawley

January 30, 1959 - January 9, 2025

Stanwood, Washington - Robert "Bob" Hawley passed away surrounded by family, friends and love on January 9, 2025, after a courageous year-long battle with cancer.

Born in Bellingham, Washington on January 30, 1959 to Madlyn "Marlys" Tieman and Richard "Dick" Hawley. He grew up with a deep connection to his extended family and love for the outdoors, water skiing and snow skiing. He graduated from Sehome High School in the 1977.

On August 13, 1982, Bob married Shannon Anne Mallahan, his partner in life, love and business, standing strong together for more than 42 years. Together, they raised two sons, Robert "Robby" and Tylor, and in 1995 built their family home on five acres in Stanwood, a property Bob personally cleared by hand.

In 1996, Bob and Shannon opened Boat Country in Everett, Washington, a local boat dealership, building on his family's entrepreneur spirit and providing jobs for dozens of devoted employees across the decades. His calm leadership and mentorship left a lasting legacy in the marine industry.

Bob's favorite memories were spent boating to the family cabin at Sea Acres on Orcas Island, hunting with family and friends outside of Loomis, Washington and soaking up the sun on Playa La Ropa in Zihuatanejo, Mexico along with his many friends there. He also loved coaching his son's baseball teams and cheering on his grandchildren, Brooke and Raymond "Ray", for softball, baseball, soccer, volleyball, basketball, football, dance and cello recitals. His family was his pride and joy.

Bob is survived by his wife, Shannon Hawley; his son, Tylor (Bethany) Hawley; his grandchildren, Brooke and Ray Hawley; his sister, Tami (Greg) Eiford; his brother, Brian Hawley; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Diane, and his beloved son, Robby.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 23 at the Everett Country Golf and Club. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Providence Hospice & Home Care Foundation.
