Donald Hall Obituary

Janesville, WI - Don "Butterball" Hall, age 89, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026 following a long battle with dementia and other health related issues. He was born on March 22, 1936, in Lima, OH, the son of Donald Gail and Wilma Hazel (Camper) Hall. He maintained lifelong relationships with his six siblings.

Don served in the United States Air Force from 1953 until his honorable discharge in 1957. On September 10, 1955, he married the love of his life, Irene M. "Renny" Towe. Donny and Renny were married for 70 years and Don served his wife as a faithful and protective partner.

Don was a deeply spiritual man who shared God's love with others. He was an inspiration to all who knew him and was loved by many. The impact of Don's life will be felt for years to come. If Don was not sharing his love of God, you could catch him behind the wheel of his Frito Lay truck where he was employed for 40 years, retiring in 1996. Don was an exceptional and careful trucker and was awarded the rare recognition by the 3 Million Mile Safe Driving Award.

Don was an example of a man driven by his purpose and faith in God. He would constantly pray for others and demonstrated his faith by giving generously to those in need. Don was kind, playful and caring. He enjoyed working with his hands by building, renovating landscaping, car mechanics, electrical work and much more. He loved a good steak, the Packers, and a large slice of fresh baked pie!

Don loved the Lord and His church. He served the church in many different roles: Elder, Deacon, trustee, usher, teacher, and wherever he was needed. He was quick to smile and laugh, and even with diminished hearing he loved to talk about God.

Don is survived by his four children, Cindy (John) Teschan, Jean (Dale) Benjamin, Jack (Lisa) Hall, and Rodney (Kathy) Hall; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and sisters, Nancy (Gerald) Eagy, Linda (Thomas) Monfort, and Lila (Jim) Pitney. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Jackie Hall and Buddy Hall; sister, Gerri Luke; and beloved grandson, Jeremiah Teschan.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Bethel Church with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park in Monona, WI. SCHNEIDER FUNERAL DIRECTORS is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, donations received will go to the work of spreading the Gospel through Church Missions and serving the needy through Meals on Wheels, and the Rock County Humane Society.
