I choose to remember your mannerisms such as the "BAAA" before making a proclamation that caused those around you to smile or laugh. Be it caring or mischievous, your smile brightened the day of those of us who were both proud and honored to know you. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. Go with God

Doug was a tour de force in the truest sense of the word - memorable, kind, funny, capable in so many capacities, exemplary husband and father...but most importantly, the love, heart and shared soul of his family. We are so sorry for your loss and hope that behind these words, I hope you can feel our hugs, mom and I, and the collective love from the Warrior family. May this love comfort your family during this challenging time. We are thinking of you. Reach out if you need anything. Our hearts are with you and your family.

Misty, our deepest sympathies come to you and your family with great sadness, for such a sudden and early death. He must have been needed in heaven for a very important assignment. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Thinking of you Misty, and all of the family. I´m so very sorry to hear this news. We always had so much fun and many memories with you both during our years in Alaska. Doug was such a sweet soul, always smiling, always there for the kids during those years of youth hockey. I will always remember him as hockey dad first, even though I know he wore many reputable titles through the years, his love shown in his volunteered time coaching the kids. Hugs to you and the boys

Misty, Marvin and I wanted to let you and your family know how sad we are at Doug´s passing. It just seems like yesterday that you were "kids" at WHS. Our hearts hurt and we wish we could give you a hug. Prayers and blessings from God to you.

Doug was a great little boy I have a lot of memories of him. When his Uncle was fighting cancer he came to WY and spent time with him. Doug was only 19 or 20 years old. What a wonderful thing for a young man to do. The family appreciated his visit. Aunt Dixie

Last time we visited was just less than a month ago. As is typical of Doug he was excited & proud to tell about the original Wasilla Warriors sign he won at an auction. He loved his Warriors sports...we parents traveled with our boys on the ragtag Alaska Junior team to Pennsylvania to play in National Hockey Tournament... coming in 2nd in the nation. Conrad, Linda, Harveys, Powells, many others to watch our boys ...Doug one of them...we have many hockey memories. He surely will be playing hockey forever. So saddened for Misty, Conrad, boys and families of them. Too sudden. Too soon.
