It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Warren H. Tingley, 95, of Crozet, Va. on February 22, 2025. Warren passed away peacefully at home.
Warren was born on April 28, 1929 in Newark, N.J. After serving in the Navy, Warren went on to pursue a career with Sun Oil Corp. Once he retired, he pursued his passion for sailing. He could often be found navigating the open waters, where he felt most at home. Sailing brought him a sense of peace, adventure and joy. He shared his love for the sport with his family and friends. Warren cherished family gatherings where stories were shared with love and endless laughter.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents Warren and Anna Tingley and his wife Ruth Tingley. He is survived by his six children, Steve Tingley (Terri), Bob Tingley (Dolores), Gary Tingley (Jeri), Jim Tingley, Tom Tingley (Pam), and Sue Alexandrovich. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Matt, Megan (Mitch), Bryce, Ben and Kristal; two great-grandchildren, Nolan and Nora; and a special friend, Barbara Behla.
A memorial service to honor Warren's life will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Hill & Wood Funeral Home, 201 N 1st Street, Charlottesville, VA, 22902.
Condolences may be shared on the tribute wall.

Warren and my Dad ,Bob Olohan, were life long pals since their childhood days in Newark NJ through their careers at Sunoco and beyond. May he rest in peace. My sincerest condolences to Warren's family. Rich Olohan
