Montie Allen Pritchett, 78, passed away on February 4, 2025, in Charlottesville, VA. Born on May 5, 1946, in Charlottesville, Montie spent a lifetime dedicated to his community, career, and loved ones.

A graduate of Rockhill Academy, Montie furthered his education at Virginia Commonwealth University before embarking on a career with the Ethyl Corporation and as a building contractor. His work reflected a strong commitment to craftsmanship and industry.

Beyond his professional life, Montie was deeply involved in public service. A lifetime member of the Charlottesville Albemarle Rescue Squad, he dedicated countless hours to helping others in times of need. He also served on the Nelson County Service Authority and the Industrial Development Authority, contributing to the betterment of his community.

Montie was known for his kindness, loyalty, and loving nature. Always available to give sound advice and guidance remarkable and his sense of humor brought joy to those around him. He was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Waynesboro and found great fulfillment in his faith and fellowship.

Montie is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, June Pritchett; his cherished Golden Retrievers, Sam, Jack, and Daisy; six nieces and nephews, Joshua Pritchett Jr., Mary Christine and Garry Monroe, Bridget and George Foster, Hank and Alicia Moon, Alex and Katie Moon, and Buddy and Christie Moon; nine great-nieces and great-nephews, Garry Jr., Lily, and Reagan Monroe, Micky, Charlotte, Silvie, and Hayden Moon and Sawyer and McKenzie Foster. He was also survived by one brother-in-law, Henry Moon; and two sisters-in-law, Linda Shortridge and Joan Flaherty.

Montie was preceded in death by his parents, Joshua and Mary Lee Marr Pritchett; as well as his brother Joshua Pritchett.

Montie's legacy of service and warmth will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing them. May his memory bring comfort to those he is leaving behind.
