Jennifer Dodd Memoriam

In Loving Memory

Jennifer East

Dodd

Jennifer East Dodd, 69, of Marion, NC, passed away at her home in Marion, NC, on December 18, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Joy Delores Dodd and Randall Dixon Dodd.

Born in St. Petersburg, FL, on January 26, 1955, Jennifer was an artist of many skills and mediums, most known for her weaving and fiber arts. Inheriting her mother's artistic skill, Jennifer's art and design work was heavily influenced by her time living in El Rito, New Mexico. She spent several years as the caretaker of the Historic Carson House while living in the groundskeeper cottage. She shared her love and knowledge of the arts through many years of teaching at Isothermal Community College and at McDowell Arts Council Association.

Jennifer is survived by her four beloved cats; her brother, Mark Dixon Dodd; a niece and two nephews, Kendall, John, and Joe; as well as a rich legacy of friends and students who carry on her memory.

In keeping with Jennifer's wishes, her ashes are being returned to earth through cremation. Those wishing to make a memorial donation are asked to consider your local animal shelter or rescue organization of your choice.
