October 12, 1932 - January 28, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eileen Smyth, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who left us peacefully on January 28, 2025, at the age of 92. She was born on October 12, 1932, in Bennet, NE, to Hubert and Grace Beecham. She was married to James Smyth for 60 years and devoted her life to nurturing her family.

Eileen is survived by her children: Mike (Carmella), Julie (Chuck), Dave (Gigi), Bill (Deana), Tom, and Mary; sister, Alice Genuchi; sister-in-law, Leone Billesbach. Eileen is a cherished grandmother to thirteen grandchildren: Jim (Amy), Nicole (Carter), Joey, Emily (Todd), Bridgette, Molly, Shanon, Colin (Cailyn), Ryan (Kayla), Mikaela, Dublin, Nia; and a loving great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren: Rilee, Breana, Ameh, Michael, Jack, Kylie, and Dustin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; granddaughter, Elizabeth; brothers: Gene, Joe and Tom; sisters: Mary, Helen, and Rita.

Eileen was the heart of her family, always offering kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support to those she loved. Her warmth and generosity touched the lives of all who knew her. Whether through her straightforward guidance, her infectious laughter, or the countless cherished memories she created, Eileen's legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Visitation with the family will be on Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel, beginning with a rosary. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., at Corpus Christi - Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church with a luncheon following the Mass. Eileen will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Albert Catholic School in her memory.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Heritage at Fox Run Memory Center for providing such loving care to Eileen. Eileen will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her love and light will continue to shine through the generations she leaves behind.
