Diane Latham Hanley

August 9, 1956 - March 21, 2026

Fort Worth, Texas - Diane Latham Hanley, 69, died unexpectedly while snorkeling in French Polynesia, a place that reflected her lifelong love of adventure and discovery.

Diane was born in Hobbs, New Mexico, to Eugene Louis and Evelyn Gillespie Latham. Her childhood in Hobbs was quite special to her, as Diane treasured the many friendships she formed there, maintaining those connections throughout her life. As a high school senior, Diane broadened her horizons as a Rotary exchange student in Caracas, Venezuela, where she developed a love of other cultures and travel.

Following her father's footsteps, Diane attended TCU and majored in accounting where she graduated in three years. She was a Zeta Tau Alpha and cherished her many Zeta friends for the remainder of her life. Diane was a Horned Frog letterman in gymnastics for one year and remained a devoted Frog Fan until the end. She enjoyed cheering on the frogs for every TCU home football game and many of the away games for decades.

She began her career at Haskins & Sells (now Deloitte) before getting her master's degree in accounting at what is now UNT. Diane then joined McCaslin, Wright & Greenwood for a short time before embarking on a remarkable 40-year partnership with her close friend and confidant, Patty Wright.

Diane loved being a CPA and her clients, serving them with care and integrity until she retired two weeks before embarking on her first 6-month cruise around the world in 2023 with her beloved husband, Fiske (Tom) Hanley, who adored her. They were on their second world cruise when she passed away. Over her lifetime, Diane visited all 50 states and traveled to more than 70 countries, and all 7 continents.

A woman of deep faith and generosity, Diane gave her time and talents to many organizations. Diane devoted her time to her community by serving on the boards of United Way of Tarrant County and All Church Home in addition to finance committees at Trinity Valley School and First Presbyterian Church. She was an active member of PEO. Diane was a devout Presbyterian, having done mission work to place solar panels on the roofs of the workers on coffee plantations of Injerto, Honduras with Tom.

When she wasn't travelling, Diane found joy in life's simple pleasures. She enjoyed listening to the birds and her outdoor fountain in the mornings, having lunch with her best friend, Diane Madalin Wright, and attending church at First Presbyterian Church. She was a 25-year breast cancer survivor.

Above all, Diane loved her family. She will be deeply missed by a vast network of friends and family. She is survived by Tom and their children, Fiske Hanley IV and his fiancée, Josie Martin, of Fort Worth, and Anna Grace Hanley of Washington, D.C., with whom Diane talked daily. She is also survived by her loving sister Ann Latham Wall and her brother-in-law Jerry Wall. Diane was preceded in death by her father and mother in addition to her nephew Tyler Latham. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Diane Hanley Keller and her husband, Mike, and niece and their daughter, Monica Hanks, and two nephews, Chris and Tom Meyer.

Diane also had a lifelong love of beagles and doted on the many she had throughout her entire life. She bred three litters of beagle puppies, which Diane would often describe as one of the highlights of her life, second only to raising her two wonderful children.

Diane was compassionate, loving, loyal and strong. She cared deeply for the less fortunate and went out of way to help so many.
