Christine Medford Obituary

Christine Maisie Medford passed away on February 17, 2026, in Brooklyn, New York at the age of 70. She led a rich life devoted to her family, her faith, and to children with special needs.

Born on April 12, 1955, in Sterling City, Texas to Bruce and Maisie Medford, Christine grew up in South Texas alongside her two older sisters, Susan and Mary Ann. She attended Highlands High School in San Antonio and the University of Texas Medical Branch, where she earned a bachelor's degree in physical therapy with high honors.

Christine built a life defined by deep devotion to her family, her faith, her lifelong friendships, and her calling as a physical therapist. Her career was dedicated to serving children with special needs as a physical therapist in Texas public schools. She was a beloved member of church communities throughout her life in Texas and, in her later years, a cherished member of First Presbyterian Church of Brooklyn.

As a mother, Christine gave her sons Luke and Mark childhoods full of joy and purpose. She taught them to water ski, took them hiking and skiing in Colorado, and spent long days with them on Lake Granbury. She instilled in them a love of the outdoors, a commitment to education, and a strong ethical foundation that shaped who they became.

Christine is survived by her sons, Luke and Mark; her four grandchildren, Jack, Poppy, Alaia, and Luca; and her sister, Susan. She will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Brooklyn, with interment to follow at Green-Wood Cemetery and a celebration of Christine's life at the family's home.
