Chris McGuire Obituary

Chris Adam McGuire of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on March 31, 2026, at his home surrounded by angels.

Chris McGuire was born on April 26, 1962, in Kansas City, Missouri. Chris is survived by his daughter, Blaine (McGuire) Jacobs, PhD; his son-in-law, Derek Jacobs; his grandchildren, Wesley and Clara Jacobs; and his siblings, Brian McGuire, Steve McGuire, and Susan LaFollette. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Kelley Scofield, and father, Glen Gordon McGuire.

Chris graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia, in 1984 with a B.S in Respiratory Therapy. Chris met many of his lifelong friends while working as a respiratory therapist and manager at Harris Methodist Hospital in downtown Fort Worth, Texas.

Chris loved everything about Mizzou football, so much so that his grandchildren lovingly refer to him as "Tiger Grandpa." Fond memories of Chris include his time at Archbishop O'Hara High School, road tripping through Yellowstone National Park, Sardi's and Broadway in New York City, scuba diving in Cozumel, Mizzou homecoming football games, and yearly fishing trips to Port Aransas, Texas.

Friends and family will gather in memory of Chris at 10 am on May 2, 2026, at the Quiet Pool within the Fort Worth Water Gardens.

Chris had a special connection to animals, so in place of flowers, please consider donating in his name to your local animal shelter.
