Billie Spoonts Obituary

Billie Jo (Lidia) Spoonts passed away on April 3, 2026.

Billie was born on August 2, 1928 to Arch Dean and VaRue Orndorff Lidia in Gordon, Texas and grew up in Amarillo. She graduated from Amarillo High School, attended Randolph - Macon College, and married William Gene (Bill) on December 31, 1947.

Bill and Billie moved to Fort Worth in 1955 where they brought up their children and lived for the next 67 years. Billie was a member of various civic organizations and especially loved to travel the world. She moved to Lubbock in 2022 to be with her daughter Cathy.

Billie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill, and her son Robert Kent Spoonts. She is survived by her daughter, Catherine Dean (Cathy) Porter and son-in-law, Scott Porter, MD., F.A.C.R.

Private burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Fort Worth Texas at a later date.

Memory donations may be made to the Everliving Church Trust Fund at First United Methodist Church, 1411 Broadway, Lubbock, TX 79410 or Union Gospel in Fort Worth.
