Tommy McKnatt Obituary

Walter "Tommy" McKnatt passed away on January 26, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Tommy was born on July 6, 1949, to Leslie and Maxine McKnatt in Memphis, TN. He graduated from Treadwell High School in 1967. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Donna McKnatt, and their three children: Shelley (Wade) Brown, Tom (Jennifer) McKnatt, and Mandy McKnatt (Joseph Madison). He was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren: Taylor, Tyler, Thomas, Abbi, Tristan, Alexis, Kaitlyn, and Aiden -as well as four great-grandchildren. Tommy is also survived by his two sisters, Pat Prine and Martha Browning. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, two brothers, and a nephew. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and the best softball coach anyone could ask for. A lifelong sports fan, he loved football, Memphis basketball, and a good Yankees game. He cherished time with his family, watching his favorite shows and classic Westerns. He also looked forward to Treadwell GNOs, reminiscing about his high school days and catching up with lifelong friends. A visitation for Tommy will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122, followed by a celebration of life memorial service from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM.
