Robert Nadeau Obituary

DEFIANCE - Robert Joseph Nadeau, 75, of Defiance, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio, surrounded by his family praying the Rosary.

He was born on April 28, 1949, to the late Joseph and Lorraine (Vail) Nadeau in Syracuse, New York. On March 24, 1973, he married Nancy Schlegel who survives. Robert proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy from 1969-1973.

Robert was a faithful member of St John Catholic Church, and was active in the RCIA team, CRIP Men's Retreat, and Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Jolly Rogers Sailing Club. He worked as an accountant at Maumee Valley Vending from 1973 until his retirement in 2004. Robert was a man of faith and a dedicated husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family.

Robert is survived by his loving wife Nancy, his children, Nick (Christina) Nadeau, Scott (Aniessa) Nadeau, Jennifer (Mike) Brubaker, Michelle (Daniel) Casarez, and Annette (Shawn) Johnston, all of Defiance, 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brothers, Ronald (Grace) Nadeau and Kevin Nadeau, all of Syracuse, NY, David Nadeau of St. Petersburg, Florida, and William Nadeau of Cicero, New York, and brother-in-law Dave Giordano of Syracuse, New York.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Diane Giordano.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at St. John Catholic Church, with Fr. Jason D'Souza officiating.

Memorials are suggested to St. John Catholic Church for Masses, or DAV (Disabled American Veterans). Online condolences can be given at www.Schafferfh.com.
