Hue Savanich Obituary

Hue Anthony Savanich, 87, died Thursday, November 21, 2024, at home. He was a lifetime resident of Savannah, born August 10, 1937, to the late Anthany William and Etta Savanich.

He was a graduate of Benedictine Military School, Hue was a US Navy and Army veteran. He retired in 1999 after 20 plus years of service with the Federal Government as a weapons specialist.

Hue was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, Jane McCowan Savanich and Dorothy Helen Savanich; two step grandchildren, Autumn Rahn, Wayne Callaway Jr. as well as his siblings.

He is survived by: children, Angel (the late Steven) Hoshaw, William Anthony Savanich; three step-children, Glenda (Milton) Rahn, Shirley Woodward and Robert (Ann) Callaway; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews,

The family will receive friends, 2 until 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service-410Stephenson Avenue, Savannah.

Funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service. Reverend Dr. Drew Corbett will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwich Cemetery.
