Walter Anderson Obituary

BRISTOL

Walter B. Anderson of Bristol, Connecticut, passed away February 5, 2026 at the age of 95 years old. He is survived by his wife Pollyjane (Sellberg) Anderson of Bristol, a son and daughter, William A. Anderson and wife Jennifer of Aurora, Colorado; a daughter Robin J. Anderson of Rancho Cucamonga, California, as well as cousins in New Jersey, Staten Island, NY and Fort Myers, FL. Mr. Anderson was a graduate of Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA and New York University Graduate School of Business New York, NY. He served in the US Army as a member of the 2nd Armored Division stationed at Coleman Barracks near Heidelberg, Germany. Mr. Anderson began his business career in the training program with Inland Steel Company, Chicago, Illinois and progressed through several sales and marketing assignments, both in Chicago and later in Connecticut with Ryerson Steel, an Inland Steel subsidiary. He joined Gate City Steel, Omaha, Nebraska, as General Manager of their Denver operation, and after several years, joined CF&I Steel Engineers, where he guided the sales and marketing of the company's proprietary line of chemical processing equipment to the sugar industry in the USA, Caribbean, Mexico, Central and South America, Africa, India, the Philippines and Hawaii. Subsequently, Mr. Anderson joined a group of investors that acquired a proprietary interest in GEMCO Die Casting Company in Englewood, Colorado, where he became president and board member of that aluminum, zinc and magnesium die casting company serving the Detroit auto industry. In 1978 Mr. Anderson returned to Connecticut and spent 15 years as president and CEO of Aerodyne Alloys Company in East Hartford, Connecticut, a subsidiary of Aerospace Metals Corporate of Hartford, Connecticut, providing vacuum melted, superalloys to the jet engine and gas turbine industries, through distribution and processing facilities in East Hartford, Indianapolis and West Palm Beach. After retirement, Mr. Anderson joined a group of investors that acquired the rights to manufacture and electromagnetic water treatment system that changed the way mineral ions in water precipitated in circulating and evaporating water systems. He served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for 7 years, building the sales of that enterprise through manufacturer's representative organizations in major cities in 25 states across the United States. Mr. Anderson was a member of several technical societies and served as president of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Steel Service Center Institute as well as an officer of the Society of Die Cast Engineers in Colorado and Connecticut. Mr. Anderson is a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Bristol, CT. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 directly at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 355 Camp St., Bristol.
