Not sure what to say?

his writing gave me joy...best history writer ever, for my $.

My deepest sympathy to the family of Winston Groom. He was a great man. My cousin, Ed Hanlon, told me that Winston's father was his lawyer and that they would sit for hours telling stories. I know that Winston was a distant relative on the Hanlon side. The Hanlons came to Mobile in the 1850's from County Galway, Ireland. The Irish bring story telling to an art. Surely Winston has a new canvas of material to write about in Heaven. May God and all the Angels and Saints bless him.

Lt Winston Groom and I were in the same unit at Tan Son Nhut, Vietnam. We went on a one-day mission and I remember hin well. Funny, smart and very pleasant. I should have written something much earlier. Farewell my Vietnam brother.

Winston was a distant cousin. I never met him, but I knew some of his ancestors. My cousin, Ed, told me that Winston's father would talk with him for hours and they were great stories. I only now found out Winston had passed away. My condolences to his family.

I liked his writing style , we had a lot in common as far as the Military goes

I would like to express my condolences to the family. God is aware of the pain you are going through (Psalm 31:7). May he give you the strength that you need to get through this difficult time.

Please accept my sincere condolences to the Groom Family. May the God of all comfort who is the hearer of prayers be with you in your time of need with his loving kindness and peace as He strengthens you to cope during this difficult time. May family, friends and extended family cherish his memories.

God is a God of all Comfort and he will Comfort the family's..My heartfelt condolences..

Blessings and peace to the Groom family. I will remember Winston Groom as a fun, storytelling, big smiling, eyes twinkling, taller than an oak, Southern gentleman. He was always accommodating and always smiling. He could weave a basket full of tales and was beyond brilliant. I'm sure he's bending God's ear, and well "that's all I got to say about that."
