Priscilla May Hartford, 86, died in her home at Brookside Manor Senior Care Center, Overbrook, KS on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, following a long and hard fought battle with Alzheimer's. She was born September 21, 1934, in Kansas City, KS, the daughter of Charley Adam Davidson and Effie May Place Davidson.
Priscilla married Walter James Hartford on May 20, 1950, and they were married for 53 years. They were longtime residents of both Kansas City, KS and Lawrence, KS. Walt was awaiting Priscilla in Heaven.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Walt, Priscilla was preceded in death by her two brothers, Charles L. and Clyde W. Davidson, her sister, Etta Morrison and a grandson, Andrew Charles Hartford.
Priscilla is survived by her five children and their spouses; Doris Mae and Calvin Fullington, Hawthorne, FL, Randall James and Myrna Hartford, Lawrence, KS, Carolyn Jean Bell and Jerry Harrell, Meriden, KS, Debra Ann Hurwitz, Oskaloosa, KS, and Mark Henry and Kavan Hartford, Littleton, CO.
Her greatest legacy is that all five of her children have a deep rooted love of their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in large part due to the dedication, sacrifice and commitment their mother made to insure they were in church at every opportunity as children, so that His words were hidden deep in their hearts so they could never part from them. In addition to her children, Priscilla is also survived by 15 grand children, 37 great grandchildren and five great- great grandchildren.
Priscilla dedicated her life to serving her family and others and showing the love of Jesus to the best of her ability. Through her service to her church as Sunday School teacher, youth leader, musical ministry and any other service asked of her, she established a legacy of service that will last for generations.
The family will be planning a memorial service for ALL to be welcomed at a later date and requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the American Alzheimer's Association
or the American Lung Association
, in care of Barnett Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 602, Oskaloosa, KS, 66066.
