I am sorry to hear of Alice's passing. She is an unheralded hero in the preservation of Kansas history. Had it not been for her generously allowing a small band of preservation minded individuals a significant amount of time to come up with a down payment and secure a mortgage to purchase the 40 acres that contained the Black Jack Battlefield, then without exaggeration, there would be no Black Jack Battlefield and Nature Park. The thousands of visitors who come out every year to walk the trails and learn of this important part of Kansas history would have had nowhere else to go. This would have been a tragic loss, one that Alice prevented from happening. Thank you, Alice, and Rest in Peace.

It has been an absolute joy working with your Mom. I am heartened by her love of the Lord that she is singing with the angels with no more worries.
