James E. “Jim” Page, 73 of Onalaska, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024, at the Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. Jim was born December 9, 1950, to Robert & Florence (Herrmann) Page, he lived with them and his brothers and sisters at their house on 3rd street in Onalaska WI. Before graduating Jim joined the Army December 22, 1969, and was deployed to Vietnam where he served a full tour. Jim left the Army August 2, 1976, and served in the Army National Guard until leaving military service behind on January 13, 1979.
Jim had worked for many years at Northern Engraving and as a school bus driver for Ready Bus Lines. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 336 in Onalaska and was active in the Legion Baseball Program.
On September 10, 2022, he made his long-awaited journey to Washington DC on the freedom honor flight to visit the Vietnam memorial paying his respects. On January 6, 2024, he made his way to Hawaii on a cruise and was scheduled to visit Alaska in September of 2024 which would have completed his bucket list of visiting every State.
Jim is survived by his brothers and sisters; Delores Kenyon, Reita Weber, Beverly Mahlum, Judy Chesebro, Sally Schultz, Phillip (Kathy) Page, Donald (Mary) Page and Gerald “Jerry” Page; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert (Margaret) Page and Russell (Sandra) Page; four sisters, Carol (Ed) Miller, Joyce Page, Diane Ryan and Sandra Page; three brothers-in-law, Delbert Kenyon, Robert Weber and Robert Mahlum along with a brother-in-law, Gary Chesebro.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 2nd at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 907 Sand Lake Road, Onalaska with Pastor Scott Skogen officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will follow in the Onalaska City Cemetery with military honors. A Celebration of Jim's life will continue at Onalaska American Legion Post 336 beginning at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

I remember Jim walking to school with his brothers & sisters and a bunch of other people as we worked our way down the street to Wilson St and then up to school; I've also seen him playing euchre on Thursdays. My sympathy to family & friends on his passing.. His sister, Diane, was one of my best friends in school & after.
