Edward Hurst Obituary

Funeral services for Edward Lewis Hurst, 86, will be held at 10:00a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2022 in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard, South, with Rev. Kevin D. King of Paramount Church, Columbus, Ohio and Dr. John Sullivan of First Baptist Church, Jacksonville, officiating. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Jacksonville Memory Gardens.  Born November 8, 1935, in Jasper, Florida, to Madeline and Fred Hurst, Mr. Hurst died Friday, June 3, 2022 in a local hospital.  He was a Deacon of First Baptist Church, Jacksonville and was retired as Master Sergeant from the Florida Air National Guard.  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Deloris Penny Hurst of Jacksonville; his daughter,  Debbie Lynn  (Kevin) King of Pataskala, Ohio; a sister, Jackie (Frank) Stoudenmire of Orange Park, Florida; a brother, Billy Donald (Dottie) Hurst of Port Orange, Florida; four grandchildren, Timothy Jason (Mindy) King, Courtney Michelle (Chris) Carnes, Abigail Leigh (Troy) Bickhart and Terra Brooke (Mike) Dean; and seven great-grandchildren, Easton King, Emerson King, Hudson Carnes, Penelope Carnes, Beckham Carnes, Henley Bickhart and Leighton Bickhart.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Downtown.
