Sue Bennett Obituary

Sue E. Bennett, 78, of Lima, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025 at her home. She was born on April 13, 1947 in Muncie, IN to the late Bert and Ruby {Guinn} Martin.

On June 9, 1973, she married John Bennett, who survives in Lima. Sue graduated from Selma High School in Selma, IN in 1965. She then graduated from Ball State University in 1969. She was a librarian for Ada High School for most of her career. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Friends of the Lima Library. She enjoyed reading, playing scrabble, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband John, she is survived by her daughters: Sarah Bennett and Karen (Nick) Schieltz, grandsons: Jacob and James Schieltz, and brothers: Robert Martin and Doug (Shonet) Martin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers: Jerry Martin and Donald Martin.

Her family will receive friends on Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 1-3 p.m. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, where a memorial service will follow at 3 p.m.

The family requests casual attire for the visitation and memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to C.U.P. (Churches United Pantry) or the Lima Public Library.
