Mary H. Copp, 83, passed away Sept 19th, 2012. She was born on Aug. 13, 1929 in Carbondale, Kansas to Ben and Lula (Dillion) Mohler. Grew up in the Lonestar Lake Area. She graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in 1947. Worked for the Delbert Richardson Insurance Agency and retired in 1977. In 1948 she married Merle L. Commons, they later divorced. In 1973 she married William (BIll) Copp, he passed away in 1989. She is survived by two sons, James L. Commons and wife Barbara of Newton, Kansas, and Michael L. Commons of Lawrence, Kansas and one daughter Teresa M. Commons- Moore of Suwanee, Georgia. Mary had seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, who preceded her in death also on Sept. 19, 2012.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, three brothers, five sisters, and her long time companion Lloyd Jameson.
Mary was a member of the Lawrence Friends Church since 1946. She was a long time member of the Lawrence Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Visitation will be at the Lawrence Funeral Chapel on Monday, Sept. 24, 2012 from six to eight p.m. Grave side service will be held at Washington Creek Cemetery, on Tuesday Sept. 25, 2012 at 11:00a.m.
In Lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials in her name to the Heartland Hospice Services and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxilary #309 in care of the Chapel Oaks Lawrence Funeral Chapel.

I heard of Mary's death at our Dillon reunion at Washington Creek Church yesterday. I knew she was in failing health. She started our Dillon cousin reunion in August 1988. She lived a long and productive wholesome life. Your 1st cousin, Richard Dillon, Centropolis

Ms. Mary, I didnt get to know you for very long, but I feel very blessed to have had you as my friend for as long as God choose for our lives to have entertwined. I always enjoyed our visits so much on the phone, and seeing your big smile, always made me smile.
