I only had one class with Dr. Goebel, Mineralogy, around 1978. I think it was one of the hardest classes for me in getting my geology degree, but he was a great teacher who was always fair, calm, and friendly. Will certainly be missed.

Way back in the early 70's, I was lucky enough to have Dr.Goebel as a professor while working on a BS in Geology. A wonderful professor, blessed with a great sense of humor.

Dear Beverly, Jeff, and Kurt--
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I met Ed when he was Chair of the Department of Geosciences at UMKC. He is remembered often as an excellent Chair, and was often considered a sort of father figure to students and young faculty members alike. He is the model that in many ways, I try to emulate. He will be missed, and he will also be remembered fondly for a long, long time to come.
Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss.
