Marie Aline Wickey Milleret
Marie Aline Wickey Milleret, 98, of Vermillion, SD, died Monday, August 11, 2014 at Sanford Vermillion Hospital in Vermillion, SD.
Marie Aline Wickey was born April 2, 1916 on a farm 5 miles south of Tonganoxie, Kansas, the daughter of Joseph and Emma Torneden Wickey. She attended Pleasant Valley Grade School, Tonganoxie High School, and Emporia State Teacher's College. She taught for 7 years in the elementary schools of Leavenworth and Wyandotte counties in Kansas. She married George Raymond Milleret on October 12, 1940 in Tonganoxie, Kansas. They owned and operated a dairy farm in Leavenworth County for 58 years. Marie and George had four children. After marriage, she was a teacher, homemaker, and artist. She also served as a homemaker and 4H leader. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, the Altar Society, Mackey Merry Makers, and Kent Extension Homemakers. Her husband, George died in 1998. In 2005, she moved to Vermillion, SD and lived for 9 years with her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Ray Ring. During this time she was a member of St. Agnes Church in Vermillion, SD.
Survivors include four children: Joyce (Keith) Eagar of Cincinnati, OH and their children Christine Eagar, Paul (Rebecca) Eagar, Kevin (Maile) Eagar; Janet (Robert) VanCleave of Overland Park, KS and their children Robert VanCleave Jr., Jeanne VanCleave, Mary (Luis) Yamamoto, Anna (Josh) Perry; George (Anna) Milleret, Tulsa, OK, and their children Andrew (Joanie) Milleret, Ailee (Ryan) Nowlin, Sasha (Zach) Malchi; and Mary (Ray) Ring, Vermillion, SD and their children Tom (Abby) Ring, John Ring, Dan Ring, and Theresa Ring, 13 great-grandchildren, and two sisters-in-law Bertha Wise and Martha Milleret of Lawrence, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and brothers Henry and Elmer Wickey.

The Hansen Funeral Home in Vermillion, SD and the Warren-McElwain Mortuary of Lawrence, KS are in charge of arrangements.
Prayers followed by visitation will be held Monday, August 18th from 10 to 11am at St. John's Church in Lawrence, KS. The Mass of Christian burial will be held 11am.
