Richard "Sparkie" Sparks
Richard "Sparkie" Sparks, 69, of Kansas City, KS, passed away June 20, 2014. Services to be announced. Sparkie was born March 1, 1945 in Lawrence, KS to Ellen and Pat Sparks. He graduated from Tonganoxie High School in 1963 and obtained the rank as a sergeant in the Army. He loved making people happy with his bbq and adored his granddaughters. Sparkie wanted people to know, "Thank you all for putting up with me." He was preceded in death by his father Pat, brother Michael and son-in-law Thor Rodenbaugh. He is survived by his mother Ellen, brother Pat (Cheryl), sisters Ellen, Donna and Kerry, former wife and friend Linda Sparks, stepdaughters Jodie Rodenbaugh and Julie Sutulovich, sons Gerald and James Sparks, granddaughters; Courtney, Kelsi, Kinley, Evie, Lila, Harlo Thor and Sophie, many nieces and nephews. Sparkie just know it was a pleasure "putting up" with such a kind hearted neighbor.You liked to have fun but I also saw the serious side of you that tried over and over to be a better and healthier person.
