May Yurchak Obituary

Graveside inurnment for May Louise Norris Yurchak, 72, of Eudora will be held at 11:00 a.m. March 18, 2017 at the Riley Cemetery in Riley, Kansas. The family will greet friends from 6-7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2017 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary – Eudora Chapel. She passed away February 25, 2017 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

May was born June 12, 1944 in Riley, Kansas the daughter of Leroy and June (Oetinger) Norris. She graduated from Riley High School.

She was self-employed with a home daycare that she ran for a number of years.

She enjoyed cooking, reading, sewing and knitting. She was a past member of the Church of Christ.

She is survived by her daughter, Julia (Mark) Martin, Manhattan, KS; son, Nick (Melody) Yurchak, Ottawa, KS, sister, Mary (Leland) McKinney, Junction City, KS; four grandchildren, Mark Martin, Jr., Samantha Marie Yurchak, Nichole Joann Yurchak, and Leslie Sue Yurchak and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Ruth.

Memorials may be made in her name to the American Diabetes Association or to the Lawrence Humane Society and may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
