Lenwood James Howard, 85, of Perry, died Monday, September 24, 2018 at Baldwin Healthcare, Baldwin City, KS. He was born July 10, 1933 at Chrisfield, MD, the son of Robert James and Nina Hall Howard. Lenwood graduated from Chrisfield High School in 1952. He served in the US Airforce from 1952 to 1956. He worked in the recycling department for Flexel/Dupont for 38 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He married Nancy Gail Morris on February 28, 1956 at Lecompton, KS. She preceded him in death on July 5, 2016. Survivors include three sons, Greg (Carol) Howard, Steve (Jerri) Howard, all of Lecompton, David Howard, Perry, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Lynn Howard in 1981 and a brother, Robert Lee Howard in 1983. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 28, 2018 at the Lecompton United Methodist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Lecompton. Memorial contributions may be made directly payable to Lecompton Community Pride, sent in care of Barnett Family Funeral Home, PO Box 602, Oskaloosa, KS 66066.
