Gerald "Jerry" Wayne Miller, age 70, formerly of Lawrence passed away on April 6th, 2017. He was born in 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri. During his childhood he and his family moved to the Bay Area where he graduated from San Mateo High School in 1965. Jerry joined the US army shortly after graduating and became part of the 173rd airborne infantry where he served three years of combat in the Vietnam war.

In 1988 he moved to Paraguay working as an expert in mission with the UN. There he met his wife, Lucy, and had one daughter, Sarah. In 1990 he and his family moved back to Lawrence, Kansas.

He was an accomplished bronze sculptor and skilled contractor. Some of his works were the remodel of the Raney House across from Saint Lawrence Catholic Center, Abe and Jakes Landing and what was formerly known as Sport2Sport. He sold his art to private collectors in the US and South America.

Jerry was a devoted father and husband. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
