Charles Paul Allen
Charles Paul Allen peacefully entered into rest surrounded by his family on Sunday, October 19, 2014. Chuck was born June 23, 1953, to C. Roger Allen and the late Jean S. Allen. Beloved husband of Renee P. Allen for 37 blessed years. Loving father of Melissa (Joseph Koepke) Allen, Kristen (Michael) Forth and Kimberly (Joseph) Grana. Dear grandfather to Tyler, Jackson, Reece, Ruby, Henry, Emmy, Charlie, Jack and Alex. Brother to Chad (Sherri) Allen, Timothy (Patty) Allen, Thomas Allen and brother-in law to Richard Proctor and Matthew (Amy) Proctor. Son in law to John (Rosemary) Proctor and the late Ruby Grace Proctor.
Growing up in Lawrence, Kansas and a KU alum, Chuck was an enthusiastic Jayhawk fan. After moving to St. Louis, he met the love of his life, went on to receive a MBA from Washington University and worked for AT&T for 31 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, skeet shooting, fishing and was an avid golfer. As a final selfless act, Chuck chose to donate his brain to Washington University in hopes to further research and understanding of dementia / Alzheimer's Disease, which claimed the life of both himself and his mother.
Service:
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, October, 25, 10:30 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church, 4725 Mattis Rd. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

To Roger and all of the Allen clan, please know that you have our deepest sympathy. Some of my earliest memories are of visiting Lawrence every year, pestering the folks to go play with "Shuck and Shad". May God bless all of you in this time of sadness.

To the Allen family
Chuck touched my life in many ways both personally and professionally. He was part of my extended family at work especially when I was pregnant and working up to the last minute, trying to predict if I would make it into work the next day. We shared lots of family stories which brought tears of laughter and joy to a workplace that could be very stressful at times. Even during the distance between Texas and Missouri, he was still connected to my life. I'll never forget what he and your family have given me. Although the last part of his life was silent and private, it's his whole life that made a difference in all our lives.

It's impossible to list or describe all that I admired about Chuck as a friend, boss, professional, and model dad. He made everything look easy; most of all kindness. Chuck left us too soon. Requiem aeternam dona ei, Domine, et lux perpetua luceat ei. Requiescat in pace.

I worked with Chuck in both StL and San Antonio and he was a great friend and colleague. When we relocated to SA in '93, he became my golfing buddy until his family was able to relocate. We always went to Mass on Holy Days and he would fish in his pocket to either offer or request a "church single" from someone else when the collection basket came around. We will all miss him greatly.

My condolences to Renee and the entire Allen family.
Chuck was a great boss, mentor and friend. He took a chance on me, a kid with no experience, and he taught me to be a perfectionist with my work. Chuck may be gone but his legacy is entrenched where I work today. The associates I'm responsible for all hear stories about Chuck and I try to coach them as well as he coached me. He made a difference, and a lot of people are better off because he cared.
God Bless.
