Charles "Gutch" Eugene Summerville
Memorial services for Charles "Gutch" Eugene Summerville, 69, Ozawkie, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ozawkie United Methodist Church, Ozawkie, Kansas.
Mr. Summerville died Monday, October 29, 2012, at his home.
He was born August 23, 1943, in Jefferson County, the son of Claude Glendale and Martha Elizabeth Gutschenritter Summerville. He graduated from Perry High School in 1962.
Mr. Summerville started working on the farm as a teenager. Over the years he worked for Norris Bros. in Lawrence, Hercules power plant in De Soto, Corp of Engineers in Perry, as a dairy farmer, and then starting his own construction business in 1985.
He married Rosie Ann Courter on February 1, 1964, in Oskaloosa, Kansas. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Bill Summerville and Brian Summerville and wife Meridee, both of Oskaloosa; two daughters, Genie LeRoux and husband Eric, of Oskaloosa, Debbie Giffin and husband Mike, of Garnett; mother, Martha Summerville, of Perry; brothers, Sam Summerville and wife Debbie, of Perry, John Summerville, of Topeka; sisters, Linda Levings and husband Duane, Claudia Zimmerman, Betta Goepfert and husband Al, all of Perry, Beth Harrison and husband Charles, of Topeka; grandchildren, John "Duke" LaDuke, Chas Summerville, and Jamie LaDuke; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Mya, Quinci, and Mulan.
His father Claude and son David Summerville preceded him in death.
