Betty Jean Todd
Memorial services for Betty Jean Todd, 91, Lawrence will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. She passed away Monday, October 27, 2014 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Betty was born April 28, 1923 in Richland, KS the daughter of William Ray and Erma Olive (Weybright) Harrell.
She attended Apple Pie School in rural Douglas County and graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in 1941.
She lived in rural Douglas County until 1953 when she moved to Lawrence and worked as a receptionist at Stokley Van Camp for many years until the plant closed in 1985.
Survivors include one daughter, Tina M. Todd, Lawrence; two grandsons, Thomas Thompson, William Thompson; two sisters, Donna M. Rump, Hutchinson, KS, Darlene M. Logsdon, Apple Valley, CA; one step sister, Beatrice Churchman. She was also preceded in death by her son, Michael R. Todd; and three brothers, Gerald W. Harrell, Olin D. Harrell and Robert E. Harrell and step sister, Virginia Clark.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to VNA Hospice and Palliative Care Unit at Lawrence Memorial Hospital and may be sent in care of the mortuary.

Betty was such a sweet person. Always had a smile on her face & really seemed to enjoy living at Babcock. She is missed.

Betty was my moms neighbor at Backock when mom Ruby Sherman lived there. She was such a nice lady. Suffers no more.
