Virginia Bock Obituary

Virginia Lee Bock

Virginia Lee Bock, aged 87, passed away on January 15, 2013, at Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral services will be on January 18, 2013, at Charter Funerals, 10250 Shawnee Mission Parkway, Merriam, Kansas, at 1:00 PM. Friends may visit between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Inurnment will occur at Leavenworth National Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to American Stroke Association or Kansas City Hospice House.

Virginia Bock was born on February 19, 1925, in Lewiston, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolf Karl Bock. She is survived by two sons, Shelley Kurt Bock of Lawrence, Kansas, and Karlton Lee Bock, of Overland Park, Kansas, a daughter, Kimlee Tyree Ashmore and husband Gary Ashmore of Independence, Missouri, and a daughter-in-law, Susan B. Bock of Lawrence, Kansas, four grandchildren, Kristin Andrea Bock of Kansas City, Kansas, Meghan Kassandra Bock of Lawrence, Kansas, Brant Allyn Ashmore of Independence, Missouri, and Kelsey Lynn Denton of Clovis, New Mexico, and a great grandchild, James Thatcher Denton.

Virginia worked outside the home at Velvet Freeze Ice Cream and T.G.& Y automotive, as well as Jones', Dillard's and Macy's department stores, all in Overland Park. Condolences may be made at www.charterfunerals.com.

I am sorry for your loss. Your mother was a sweet person. I remember meeting her at the judicial center a few times when she was waiting on you to finish a case, and it was quite apparent that she was very proud of her son the lawyer.
