Virginia Alice DeMint Price
Mass of Christian Burial for Virginia Alice DeMint Price, 92, Lawrence will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 12, 2014 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. She died Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Virginia was born on September 18, 1921 in Raymond, KS the daughter of Marion and Katherine (Burns) DeMint.
She served her country in the U.S. Marines.
She received her Bachelor's in Education from Wichita State University.
She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, the Widow Club, Forever Young, The Pinnacle Club, VFW Auxiliary, and Chat n Stitch.
She loved traveling and had the privilege of visiting other countries with her daughter.
She was an elementary teacher for 35 years.
She married John Price on December 31, 1947 in Chase, KS. He preceded her in death in 1977.
Survivors include her daughter, Janet Price, Peachtree City, GA, two sisters, Roberta Crider, Lawrence, Marguerite Riedy, Hope, KS; and one brother, Bill DeMint, Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Tom DeMint.
A rosary will be held at 1 p.m. at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence with a visitation to follow until 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 11, 2014.
