One of our fondest memories was driving Mom (Martha) to Sam and Ella's in Colorado. Your Mom was so gracious to us. We always enjoyed our visits to their home. Mike and Mari Notley

Such a blessing to have known Ella and family. We will miss Ella and try to understand that it seems like the end of an era.

Ella had the eye of an artist. For years she created museum-quality of outstandingly beautiful quilted vests, skirts, wall hangings and quilts and passed her love of quilting on to others. What wonderful memories these treasures, the gifts of her hands, will be for her children to pass down through the generations. Every year, during our Xmas Bazaar at Pagosa Springs JUMC, we would order one or two of Ellas's custom-made wreaths for our Texas family members. WOW! We were told they stopped the traffic! All of the above adjectives describing Ella's handiwork, apply to this special daughter of God - lovely, caring, sharing and a treasure to all who knew her. Sending love and hugs,

Ella was such an outgoing, gifted and friendly lady who touched many lives and hearts. One of the first ladies I met here in Pagosa Springs, she greeted me and made me feel welcome m in her own special way. Her will to live life to the fullest was an inspiration and a joy. The wreath bazaar and the kitchen at CUMC have not been quite the same without her.

Ella was one of the loveliest ladies I have ever known and also one of the most talented. She made beautiful wreaths for the Community United Methodist Church Christmas Bazaar and her quilts were legendary. She was a beautiful person inside and out and she will be missed. Mary K. I met Ella 15 years ago at Community United Methodist Church in Pagosa Springs, CO. She had a wonderful, cheerful personality and an outstanding sense of humor. Everybody loved her. I fondly remember her cooking for church potlucks in her pink Crock Pot, decorating wreaths for the Christmas bazaar, quilting colorful Seminole skirts and vests and telling hilarious stories from her and Sam's past. She was a bright sunflower in my life and I'll miss her.

I've only known Ella and her family since 2008 when we moved to Brandon Woods from the Colorado foothills but I felt a kinship early on!
She was a great role model - her courage and inner strength to adapt to whatever circumstance life dealt was amazing!
We often met while walking and chatted about our love of fabrics, places in CO we liked, or the beauties of our surround. She was the first BW resident to earn a 'Walking in the Woods' t-shirt for accumulating 20 miles of outdoor walking one season!
She was very proud of her family and enjoyed sharing stories and we could easily laugh together.
May she rest in peace for a job well done on earth!
