After retiring in March 2018, he served as a managing partner for Professional Pile Solutions, LLC, a small business with his son, Keith, as well as an insurance agent. He continued to be involved with the Chamber, the Chamber PAC, Leadership Kansas and Rotary. Much of his time was also spent on the golf course – his passion and hobby that he was truly exceptional at.

Kent was an awesome man and a hell of a good golfer! He was so good to me when I lost my wife in 1998. I really appreciated Kent for the way he carried himself through out his wonderful life and the way he treated ever one around him. Keep his memory in your hearts!

Diane and family,
Let me start by offering my sincere condolences to all of you for the loss of a great man! Kent always had a smile on his face and lit up any room he entered!
I just watched the eulogy that Nick gave last night at the rosary. He could not have captured Kent any better; his words were accurate and beautiful.
I loved the part about being known as the "Silver Fox". One of my memories of Kent is him dressed up as the "Beer Wolf" Oh, the good ole' days!
My thoughts and prayers will be with all of you. Cherish your memories and I know there are many!

Grieving for this sad loss. Kent was such a good friend and loyal colleague. Will miss his cheery smile and great sense of humor. May he enjoy eternal peace. Probably teaching God how to hit a 2 iron as we speak.

Diana—So sorry to hear of Kent’s passing. Haven’t seen him in quite some time but have many good memories of our bleacher time when Ryan and Kyle were playing ball. I know words can’t fill up the emptiness you feel in your heart right now but maybe just knowing others care will help. Prayers for all of you. Gerry and Marcia McPhail

Velma Lee and I enjoyed Kent and his brother Kelly when they were students at Colby Community College. Kent lived with us for part of the time -- a perfect guest. Both were great singers and performers. We have many great memories.

Kent was a wonderful Christian man who shared his faith with those of us in the Wednesday morning men's group at St. John the Evangelist in Lawrence. Kent was a participant since its beginning and served as our leader these past few years. Those of us who sat at the same table or same Zoom meeting as Kent were blessed by him sharing his personal faith and wisdom with us. We, Men of St. John, will miss him dearly. Our sincerest condolences to Diana and the family.
